We have been running since 1994 under the guidance of Mestre Gato, one of the founding members of the Grupo Senzala organisation - one of the biggest and well respected groups in Brasil.

Based in Peterlee, County Durham but with classes in Newcastle Upon Tyne, Sunderland, Lancaster and Leeds, we have an international base in that many Mestres have attended our workshops and Batizados - Mestres Gato, Peixinho, Ramos, Itamar, Gil Velho and Suassuna to name but a few as well as many Contra-Mestres, Professors and Instructors from the UK, Europe and Brasil.

The aims of this site is not only to promote our group, and the Senzala organisation but to also promote Capoeira itself and the people who teach and practice this wonderful art.
